Someone in London has won £5,800,000 on the lottery and doesn’t know it

Someone in London is rich beyond their wildest dreams and doesn’t even know it.

The search is on for the owner of a Lotto ticket worth an incredible £5.8million, bought in Lewisham, since the jackpot winner has yet to come forward.

Purchased ahead of the Saturday, September 26, draw, the ticket matched all six main numbers in Round 1 of the draw to scoop the whopping jackpot of £5,844,340.

The National Lottery is now urging all players who may have bought a ticket in Lewisham for that draw to double-check their tickets for those golden winning numbers, which were 22, 27, 38, 42, 47, 59 and the Bonus Ball 31.

Fortunately, the lucky ticket holder has 180 days (until March 25, 2027) to claim their prize, but we can’t imagine it’s one anyone wants to wait that long for.

Plus, anyone who is not in possession of their original ticket for whatever reason but believes they have a genuine claim can do so in writing, but this must be done within 30 days of the draw.

The hunt for the winner comes as Lotto is making more millionaires than ever.

In this same draw, three further millionaires were made after each player matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to scoop £1m each.

Last month alone saw four Lotto jackpot winners crowned, including this latest mystery winner, helping take the total number of Lotto millionaires created so far this year to 140.

What’s more, there are plenty more chances for people to become millionaires and start ticking off their bucket list, as a special £12m Must Be Won draw takes place this Saturday.

Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said: ‘Somewhere, someone is holding a Lotto ticket worth more than £5.8million and may not even realise it yet.

‘It’s an incredible thought, and we’re urging everyone who played Lotto in Lewisham for the draw on September 26 to check their tickets carefully.

‘Whether you’re local to the area or were just visiting at the time, it only takes a moment to check.

‘Just imagine this sum of money in your bank account. This is a massive win, and we really want to unite the lucky ticket holder with their Lotto jackpot prize. Check your tickets – it could be you!’
