Motorists face delays on the M40 in Buckinghamshire after a car fire on the London-bound lane.
Traffic was briefly held on the M40 between junctions J5 and J4 after a vehicle caught on fire on the busy motorway.
While two lanes have now reopened, there are still long queues reaching back to J7.
National Highways warned of around 20-minute delays on approach and three miles of congestion.
It comes after a crash on the M25 in Essex this morning after a serious collision involving a van and a car near Waltham Abbey. While all lanes have reopened, there are still delays in the area.
