President Donald Trump called Iran’s supreme leader an ‘easy target’ but said the US won’t assassinate him ‘at least for now’ – as he abruptly departed a global meeting.

Trump left the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Canada earlier than expected on Tuesday as the conflict between Iran and Israel escalated.

‘We know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding,’ wrote

‘He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.

‘But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.’

In another post, Trump revealed what he seeks from Iran: ‘UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!’

The US president also urged Tehran’s 9.5million residents to flee for their safety on social media.

Just hours earlier, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said he had heard ‘nothing’ from Trump indicating that he was planning to involve western leaders in pushing for deescalation in the Iran-Israel conflict.

‘I don’t think anything that the president said either here or elsewhere suggests that’ the US will get involved, Starmer told reporters at the summit on Tuesday.

Starmer noted a statement that G7 leaders sent out late Monday pushing for ‘de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza’.

‘Throughout the dinner yesterday I was sitting right next to President Trump, so I’ve no doubt, in my mind, the level of agreement there was in relation to the words that were then issued immediately after that,’ said the prime minister.

Trump plans to meet with his top advisers in the White House Situation Room upon arriving back in Washington, DC. He seemed to be edging toward getting the US more involved in the conflict.

It represents a sudden about-face from Trump’s statement that a nuclear deal with Iran was still ‘achievable’.
