Need to grab something last-minute from the shops?

Supermarkets have revealed their holiday opening times for the late May bank holiday this year. But depending on your plans, you may have quite a lot of shopping to do.

To save you time, Metro has compiled everything you need to know below.

Opening hours may vary by branch, so please check your local store’s specific times to avoid disappointment and empty bags today.

Lidl

English Lidl branches outside London M25 and in Wales will have reduced opening hours today, between 8am and 8pm.

Stores in London and across Scotland will remain open as usual, with most closing at around 10pm or later.

Marks & Spencer

Opening times for M&S shops today will vary by store.

Some larger shops will operate as normal, while others, including many M&S foodhalls, will close slightly earlier than usual.

Tesco

Tesco has confirmed all of its large stores will close by 6pm today.

A few of the retail chain’s Express shops, mostly those in central London, will also close at 6pm, while others across the UK are expected to run as normal.

Aldi

Aldi stores across the UK are expected to operate with reduced hours today and will open between 8am and 8pm.

However, you’re advised to check the bank holiday opening and closing times for individual Aldi stores with the chain’s store finder.

Morrisons

Most of Morrisons’ large stores will close earlier today – the majority will be open between 7am and 8pm.

The supermarket’s Daily shops, however, will remain open as normal.

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s has also confirmed the opening times for its shops across the UK.

The retail chain’s larger shops, and the Argos branches within them, will close early, with most operating between 8am and 8pm.

Its smaller Local shops will remain open as normal.

Co-op branches will open as normal today, with stores shutting late and a few locations still operating for 24 hours.

Asda

Large Asda stores are expected to close earlier than normal, with most shops open between 8am and 10pm, but this depends on the store.

The chain’s Asda Living shops will also close slightly earlier than normal.

The smaller Asda Express shops will remain open as normal, while the Express Petrol stores will operate 24 hours.

Waitrose

Waitrose is expected to close the majority of its large shops earlier today, while its Little Waitrose stores will operate as normal.
