Vanessa Hudgens ‘beyond heartbroken’ over death of beloved pet dog

Filipino American actress Vanessa Hudgens is grieving the loss of her dog, Darla. In a series of posts, the High School Musical alum took a moment to honor Darla’s life and the dog’s close bond with Hudgens’ husband, Cole Tucker.

“I am beyond heartbroken today,“ she wrote. “Putting her down was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but her little body was failing her and it was her time. I already miss the pitter patter of her little paws in the house. If you have your own fur baby squeeze them extra for me. Rest in peace my sweet girl.”

In a separate post, Hudgens reflected on Darla’s personality and how fiercely loyal she was. She shared that the little dog had always been selective with men, likely due to past trauma, but her feelings changed the moment she met Tucker.

Hudgens recounted how Darla cuddled up to him and “trusted him immediately,” a sign she recognized as proof that he was her perfect match.
