WATCH: Seventeen debuts on NPR’s Tiny Desk

The K-pop supergroup has stepped into NPR’s Tiny Desk, one of music’s most beloved and iconic intimate stages. 

Seventeen officially became the first K-pop act to ever perform behind the legendary desk, bringing their signature charm, powerhouse vocals and tightly synchronized energy to Washington, D.C.

Although known for their massive arena productions and 13-member lineup, Seventeen arrived as a compact yet dynamic five-member unit with Joshua, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino.

Backed by a live band and surrounded not by thousands of concertgoers but by shelves of books and office memorabilia, the group transformed the NPR space into a cozy mini-concert.

Their 10-track setlist was a celebration of eras, moods and fan favorites. Opening with the explosive “Super,” they shifted smoothly into the warmth of “Darl+ing” before transitioning into uplifting tracks like “_WORLD,” “To You,” and “HBD.” 

The set only intensified as they pulled out high-energy hits such as “SOS,” “Rock With You,” “CLAP,” “HOT,” and the ever-iconic closer “VERY NICE.”

Despite their polished delivery, Vernon admitted that the setting felt more intimidating than expected. After the first song, he looked at the cheering crowd in disbelief. “We did not expect this kind of response,” he said, visibly touched. “You guys are awesome, thank you so much.”

The group’s nerves didn’t last long, thanks to the unusually loud and enthusiastic office audience. Vernon later added, “We’re having so much fun because of you guys. We were honestly super nervous to perform in such a setting. So thank you for making us feel so comfortable. You really boosted our confidence.”
