“The Voice” winner Sofronio Vasquez is officially transitioning from competition standout to recording artist and he isn’t doing it alone.

The Filipino singer entered the studio in August, as shared by “The Voice” in their recent episode of “Beyond The Voice,” to begin work on his debut EP, backed by the steady guidance of his coach Michael Bublé and bolstered by the presence of music heavyweights David Foster and Paul Anka.

The recording sessions, which took place in Los Angeles, California, were organized by Bublé and held at the home studio of Grammy-nominated engineer Jorge Vivo.

In a Facebook post sharing a link to a “Beyond The Voice” video, Vasquez gave fans a glimpse of the experience, writing, “Sharing with you the behind-the-scenes of how Michael Bublé helped Sofronio Vasquez during the recording of an EP with David Foster and Paul Anka and more! Lucky to have shared those moments with my heroes, whom I now call friends.”

The video showed Vasquez entering the studio to record a new rendition of the holiday classic “My Grown-Up Christmas List.” The moment marked the beginning of what Bublé envisioned as a carefully curated EP rather than a rushed full album.

Bublé explained the project’s structure in the video, saying, “This is an EP. So I put two Christmas songs, four songs from the show (‘The Voice’) and one song original that I wrote, one duet of a Christmas thing.”

According to him, the format was the perfect launchpad for Vasquez’s career following his win.

One standout detail from the sessions was Bublé’s request for Vasquez to include Tagalog lyrics in a duet, which was an intentional nod to the singer’s roots and a move that highlights the importance of authenticity early in an artist’s journey.

Legendary producer David Foster, who had previously worked with Vasquez, shared that the singer left a strong impression on him from the start. Foster also noted how fortunate Vasquez is to have Bublé’s mentorship as he navigates the next phase of his career.

The momentum continued months later when, on Dec. 16, Vasquez returned to “The Voice” stage to perform “Superman,” a song written by Bublé, bringing his journey full circle.
