A crowbar was used to destroy the windscreens on more than 40 parked cars in Birmingham.

Motorists were in for a shock of their lives after a vandal went on a rampage in the Balsall Heath area.

Several cars had the unwanted special treatment inflicted on them while parked along Moseley Road on Friday morning.

Along with windscreens, the attacker smashed in back and side windows during the incident, which was reported at around 10am.

It appears cars of all models and prices were targeted, some with huge cracks and dents in the middle of the windscreens.

Footage was circulating on social media appearing to show a man swinging a crowbar over cars while a vehicle sounded its horn in alarm during the chaos.

In another clip, one eyewitness estimated that over 40 cars had been smashed.

Now a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.

West Midlands Police said: ‘We were called to reports of a man damaging numerous vehicles on Moseley Road, Birmingham, at around 10am this morning.

‘Officers attended and arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

‘A crowbar was also recovered, and he was further arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.

‘We understand the concern with this incident.’

Last month, a mystery man smashed up the windows of a £200,000 Aston Martin and sprayed ‘CHEATER’ on the bonnet at a London golf club.
