The rising tennis ace is back home!
After a whirlwind year that saw her making history on the world stage, Filipino tennis sensation Alex Eala is back home in the Philippines to rest, reflect and recharge after her most successful season yet.
Fresh from a hard-fought campaign at the Hong Kong Open, where she reached the round of 16, Eala returned to the country for a quick break.
She took to Instagram to share a peaceful set of photos overlooking Taal Volcano, captioning them, “I always find my way back home.”

The post was accompanied by Ben&Ben’s heartfelt track “Ride Home,” a fitting soundtrack for her homecoming.
On her Instagram Story, the 20-year-old also gave fans a glimpse of her comfort food of choice, a classic Filipino plate of kakanin.
Eala’s homecoming follows an extraordinary year of milestones. Beginning 2025 ranked No. 140 in the world, she soared up the charts with a breakout performance at the Miami Open, where a semifinal run propelled her into the Top 75.
That success unlocked automatic berths in Grand Slam main draws, marking a pivotal leap in her career.
Her momentum didn’t stop there. Eala clinched her first WTA title at the Guadalajara 125 Open, and at the US Open, she delivered the Philippines’ first-ever main draw victory, stunning Denmark’s Clara Tauson in the opening round.
Her consistent performances throughout the year culminated in a new career-high ranking of World No. 50, an unprecedented achievement for a Filipina player.
Reflecting on her journey, Eala shared, “My season comes to an end. I have no words to describe what 2025 has brought me. My dreams have truly come alive.”
Now back on home soil, Eala is setting her sights on her next goal, the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, as she continues to inspire a new generation of Filipino athletes chasing their dreams, one serve at a time.
