Blackpink’s Rosé, ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ earn historic Grammy nods

K-pop has officially made its mark on Grammy history, thanks to two trailblazing hits that have captured the world’s attention.

Blackpink’s Rosé and Bruno Mars’ global hit collaboration “APT.”, along with HUNTR/X electrifying “KPop Demon Hunters” anthem “Golden,” have officially landed Grammy nominations.

For the first time ever, songs by K-pop artists are competing for Song of the Year. Both songs are also in the running for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

It’s a particularly special milestone for Rosé, who now holds the titles of first K-pop soloist and first female K-pop act to receive a Grammy nod.

“APT.” takes it even further, becoming the first K-pop track to be nominated for Record of the Year. The track also makes Rosé the first K-pop lead artist to score a nomination in one of the Grammys’ Big Four categories, which define the biggest honors of the night.

In a heartwarming moment shared on Instagram, fans got a glimpse of Rosé’s live reaction to the news. In a video posted by a friend and re-shared on her Instagram Story, the singer is seen on a group FaceTime call during the nominations announcement.

As the Record of the Year nominees were being revealed, she anxiously asked, “Are we not going to get it?” before nervously adding, “Aw, maybe we’re not going to get it.”
