The upcoming documentary “Eraserheads: Combo on the Run” is set to offer more than a typical film viewing, as advance screening events across North America will combine cinema and live music into a single experience.
Designed as a hybrid film-and-concert tour, audiences can expect an immersive showcase that brings the story of one of the Philippines’ most iconic bands closer to fans abroad.
Headlined by Ely Buendia, frontman of the iconic band Eraserheads, each stop on the tour will begin with an advance screening of the documentary, followed by a live performance billed as “Ely Buendia Live in Concert.”
The format allows attendees not only to revisit the band’s history on screen but also to experience their music performed live.

The North American premiere series will visit four major cities, which gives fans multiple opportunities to catch the event ahead of the film’s wider theatrical rollout on April 24.

Screenings will take place at notable venues in Los Angeles at TCL Chinese Theatre on April 10, Rio Theatre, Vancouver on April 11, Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema, Toronto on April 13 and AMC Empire 25, New York on April 19.
The documentary itself is produced by DVent Films and directed by Maria Diane Ventura, who brings together archival material, interviews and intimate footage that trace the band’s journey from their formation in 1989 to their lasting influence on Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
Following the advance screenings, the documentary will expand to additional markets in the United States and Canada through distributor Abramorama.
Beyond chronicling the band’s rise, the film also situates their legacy within the cultural shifts of the Philippines, offering context on how their music resonated in the post-EDSA era.
