A former Met Police officer is accused of scamming luxury retailers out of £1,920 in goods – including a Cartier Mini Love wedding band, a court has heard.

Sunna Harrison-Aziz, 28, is charged with five counts of corrupt or improper exercise of police powers and privileges, four of fraud by false representation, and one of perverting the course of justice.

The former PC allegedly defrauded Christian Dior, Cartier, Moncler Spa, and Currys by claiming not to have received goods she bought online.

These include a £700 Dior bikini, a £1,920 Cartier Mini Love wedding band, an Apple MacBook worth £2,599 from Currys, and an £840 Abelle jacket from Moncler Spa.

Harrison-Aziz is also accused of improperly accessing police files between January and September 2022 to make fraudulent receipts claims for the luxury goods and carrying out checks on behalf of third parties.

Harrison-Aziz was charged following an investigation by the Met’s Anti-Corruption and Abuse Command under the direction of the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

She appeared in Westminster Magistrates’ Court alongside co-defendant Edgar Morais, 30, who is accused of encouraging the former PC to abuse her police powers.

Eugene Nunoo, 29, of Eastbourne, Sussex, did not appear in court due to train cancellations. He is charged with the same offense as Morais.

District Judge Daniel Sternberg today rejected an application by defense counsel Pan Symeou to prohibit the reporting of the former PC’s identity, citing ‘mental health’ and ‘anxiety’ from media attention.

He said there were no grounds to do so under the Criminal Procedure Rules.

Judge Sternberg told the defendants he was sending each of their cases to Southwark Crown Court on June 2.

Both were released on unconditional bail until the court date.

Harrison-Aziz, of Croydon, south London, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Morais, also of Croydon, denies one count of intentionally encouraging the corrupt or improper exercise of police powers.
