People have been arrested after football fans flooded central London following England’s World Cup quarter-final win yesterday.
Videos posted to the social media platform X show dozens of police officers scuffling with cheering and jeering fans in Piccadilly Circus.
One clip showed officers pinning a man to a wall by a Pizza Hut on Regent’s Street.
He tells them as cars driving by beep their horns: ‘Oh my God. I’m not even doing anything.’
Another video showed cars at a standstill, with football fans climbing onto utility boxes, waving England flags and banging the windows of buses.
The person filming says: ‘Police have lost control. Everyone’s going mental after the England win against Norway.
‘Kicking off – absolute carnage. Piccadilly Circus, celebrating, police trying to move everyone on. It’s going to kick off.’
Fireworks were also set off, according to footage by vlogger Paul Brown.
‘It is kicking off,’ someone says. ‘Police have got no control.’
The police have been approached for comment.
The Three Lions’ 2-1 victory over Norway in Miami came after Jude Bellingham slid home the winning goal within two minutes of extra time.

Norway had taken the lead in the first half of the match, only for a second goal to be ruled out by the video assistant referee.
The software spotted Manchester City striker Erling Haaland pushing over midfielder Elliot Anderson.
Yet it was Bellingham who helped bring it just that little closer to home, having earlier scored late in the first half of normal time to make it 1-1.
Norway said the goal was struck off the cables that support the Skycam camera when it cleared upfield, with FIFA disputing this.
Prince William was among those celebrating the brilliant finish, saying on X: ‘Well done England! Top performance in a tough environment.
‘This is a special team. Commiserations to a proud Norway team. Onto the semi-final… Never in doubt!’
Outgoing Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said Norway’s team took ‘one hell of a beating’, while tagging the country’s leader, Jonas Gahr Støre.
The Three Lions will now fly from Miami, Florida, to Atlanta, Georgia, for Wednesday’s semi-final.
Their foe will be Argentina, which smashed Switzerland 3-1 yesterday.
