“FIL-AM,” a coming-of-age short film by Filipino American filmmaker Ralph Torrefranca, is set to have its Oregon premiere at the DisOrient Asian American Film Festival at the Art House Theater on March 15.

Based on a true story, the short film follows Jonah, a 16-year-old Fil-Am, and his family in a turbulent time. Jonah is forced to leave his old life behind, when his mother and stepfather tell him that they must move homes in California.
