Filipino Canadian pop-punk artist MICO says his latest record reflects a transformative chapter in his life as he prepares to hit the road across North America, Asia and Australia.
Before embarking on the global trek later this year, the rising singer-songwriter introduced what he described as his most honest body of work to date, giving listeners a glimpse into the thoughts and emotions that shaped him during a pivotal period in his life.
Sharing the announcement on Instagram, MICO opened up about the significance of the album, “When the lights turn on,” and the journey behind its creation.

“This album encapsulates a lot of life for me,” he opened. “This is everything that was going through my brain when things really started to change for me. a lot of thoughts that everyone around me have heard a million times in conversation. a lot of others that i never thought would escape my lips. all out in the open for you to perceive and try to understand.”
The artist said every lyric and musical decision on the record carries purpose, although he hopes listeners will first experience the album on their own before hearing the stories behind it.
“I could explain every single word and musical choice behind this album with so much intent and detail, and i probably will at some point,” he added. “But for now, just take a listen and let me know what you think. thank you for being so patient with me the last 7 years, and i hope that this project can make you feel something, anything, the way i felt something while making it.”
The release marks a major milestone for MICO, who has steadily built an international following through his emotionally driven songwriting and energetic pop-punk sound. The album also arrives after years of anticipation from fans who have been waiting for a full-length project from the artist.
‘Running From a Feeling Tour’
Alongside the album launch, MICO officially unveiled the dates for his “Running From A Feeling Tour,” which will see him perform across continents.

The tour is scheduled to kick off on Sept. 22 in Philadelphia before traveling through numerous cities across the United States and Canada.
Fans can expect performances in Brooklyn, Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, Toronto and Boston, among other stops.
Following the North American leg, MICO will take the tour overseas with scheduled performances in Singapore, Manila, Sydney and Melbourne, giving audiences across Asia and Australia the opportunity to experience the new album live.
For Filipino fans, the Manila concert is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated stops on the tour. The performance is currently scheduled for Nov. 21, although the concert venue and ticketing details have yet to be announced.
