A fourth person has been found dead beneath cliffs near Whitby Abbey in just four days.

Emergency services were called to the iconic beach 11.01am today after reports a woman’s body had been found found at Sandsend near Whitby Abbey.

Officers later discovered the body behind the main cark park, below the cliffs.

It comes after three other people have been found dead beneath the cliffs this week.

A man and woman, believed to be in their 40s, fell to their deaths from 200ft cliffs behind Whitby Abbey on Wednesday evening.
