Missed the previous “KPop Demon Hunters” sing-along screening? No worries, the fan-favorite animated hit is making a big comeback to theaters just in time for Halloween.
Netflix announced that “KPop Demon Hunters: The Sing-Along” will return for a limited three-day run across major movie chains including AMC, Regal and Cinemark from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.
Tickets officially go on sale this Friday, Oct. 17, giving fans another chance to belt out their favorite tracks like “Golden” and “Soda Pop” and relive the electrifying adventure on the big screen with the Huntr/x and SAJA Boys.
The musical fantasy film, which has become a record-breaking global sensation, follows a team of K-pop idols who moonlight as demon hunters, blending action and chart-topping bops in one visually dazzling package.
When the sing-along edition was first released in August, it grossed an impressive $17 to $18 million in just one weekend. This time, AMC Theatres will also be joining the fun for the first time.
Meanwhile, creator Maggie Kang recently made headlines for her firm stance against a live-action version of the movie. In an interview with the BBC, she explained that the film’s magic lies in its animated form.
“There’s so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are so suited for animation,” Kang said. “It’s really hard to imagine these characters in a live-action world. It would feel too grounded. So totally it wouldn’t work for me.”
