A murder investigation has been launched after a woman died in a house fire in Hounslow early on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police said.
An additional eight people were taken to hospital with injuries, with one still fighting for her life.
Police confirmed they were called to a residential address on Berkley Avenue, Hounslow, at 1.14am today, following reports of a fire.
Initial reports suggest the fire was believed to have been deliberately started.

Despite the best efforts of medical staff, a 48-year-old woman later died in hospital.
The Met said her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
‘Another woman, aged 40, remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition,’ a statement added.
‘The remaining seven people – six men and one woman – have since been discharged after receiving treatment for minor injuries.’
With the probe in its early stages, no arrests have yet been made.
Leading the investigation is Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who said: ‘Our thoughts are first and foremost with the victim’s family and loved ones at this extremely difficult time, as well as everyone who has been injured.
‘Our enquiries are progressing at pace as we work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fire, which we believe may have been started deliberately.’
DCI John added that this was an ‘isolated incident’ but acknowledged it will cause concern within the local community.

Police are keen for anyone with information that may prove helpful, such as CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage, to contact them.
