Filipino American pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival is putting the spotlight on Indigenous health after announcing a $2 million donation to the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health (CIH) at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
The contribution is part of the festival’s charitable efforts to support organizations working on issues affecting women and girls, including access to healthcare, reproductive health and community wellness.
Through the donation, CIH will be able to further strengthen public health programs and services created for Native and Indigenous communities.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health was chosen as one of Daisy Chain Fields’ nonprofit partners because of its decades-long work addressing health disparities among Indigenous populations.
Established in 1991, the center develops and implements evidence-based health initiatives while working closely with Native communities to create programs that reflect their cultural needs and experiences.
The organization’s work spans healthcare access, disease prevention, vaccine initiatives, education and support systems for Indigenous women, children and families.
Daisy Chain Fields announced the donation ahead of its inaugural festival in Irvine, California. The event, founded by Rodrigo, pledged $10 million in donations to 10 nonprofit organizations through its ticket sales proceeds.
Philanthropist Melinda French Gates later matched the amount, bringing the total charitable contribution to $20 million.

The festival’s nonprofit partners were selected for their efforts in addressing urgent challenges faced by women and girls around the world. CIH co-director Melissa Wells joined Rodrigo during an Aug. 28 press conference in Los Angeles, where the festival’s charitable commitments were announced.
With the $2 million donation, Rodrigo’s festival hopes to support long-term efforts that ensure Indigenous communities have access to culturally responsive healthcare and resources.
