Filipino American pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo released her third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” on June 12, breaking chart records and earning critical acclaim.
The 13-track album sees Rodrigo step beyond the raw angst and scorn of previous hit releases, “Sour” and “Guts,” to reflect on the dreamy highs and fragile wounds of being in love.
The album earned about 82 million Spotify streams on release day. It became Spotify’s most streamed album in a single day across all female artists this year so far.

Apart from chart success, the album also garnered positive ratings and reviews from several music publications, praising the writing as the pop star’s most narratively extensive and adventurous work yet.
In their album review, music magazine Pitchfork referenced lyrics from the final track of Rodrigo’s 2023 release: “When am I gonna stop being great for my age and just start being good?”
They wrote, “That time is now.”
