A mothering influencer joined in the Netflix documentary trend on TikTok, where she revealed to her thousands of followers her husband was a paedophile. Just 12 days later Sara Gilson was shot dead.
Shuffling her chair the mother-of-two sits down and stares straight ahead at the camera in one of her last ever posts.
‘Preparing for when Netflix drops a documentary about my soon to be ex husband who I just found out is a pedophile,’ Gilson, 43, wrote.
The caption then read: ‘I wish I was joking.’
A woman could be heard screaming amid ‘what sounded to be a gunshot’ coming from Sara’s home in Oklahoma on July 23.

They received an emergency call from their son who had escaped the house and made it to safety with a neighbor.
The bodies of Gilson, 43, and her husband Jeremiah Duffey, 48, were found by their son in the home, both shot dead in an apparent murder-suicide.
The TikTok post was made after a local parent filed a restraining order on Duffey after he was accused of grooming their 15-year-old daughter who played on the youth basketball team Duffey coached.
He allegedly kissed and touched the girl and was caught by another coach, her mother claimed in the police report.
The Owasso Police Department said the incident ‘was witnessed by another team coach who immediately intervened and reported it to the juvenile’s parent.’
The child then revealed to her mother that Duffey engaged in more inappropriate behavior, inviting her to his hotel room during a tournament trip and then offering her money ‘to keep her quiet.’
Gilson had filed a protection order against him after he threatened to commit suicide and went on the run with a gun in 2021.
An online fundraiser which has raised more than £24,000 for Sara’s children described her as ‘an incredible mum who loved them fiercely, worked hard to provide for them and dreamed of giving them the best life possible.
‘Her children were the center of her world. And everything she did was for them.’
In the US, more than half of female murder victims are killed by partners or exes according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
