Belly’s story is not over just yet, as Prime Video announced that the hit romance drama series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” will be concluding with a full-length movie.
The announcement came at the series’ finale red carpet celebration in Paris, France, on Sept. 17, hours after the final episode of the show’s third and final season aired.
‘Another big milestone left’
Jenny Han, writer of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” book trilogy and TV series, returns one last time to direct the movie and bring the story home.
“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans.”
Season 3 success and spoilers
The series stars Lola Tung (Belly), Christopher Briney (Conrad) and Gavin Casalegno (Jeremiah) in a coming-of-age romance.

In a post on Instagram, Prime Video announced that “The Summer I Turned Pretty” Season 3 drew 25 million viewers in its first week.
The third season saw the tense lead-up to Belly and Jeremiah’s wedding and the dramatic detour to Paris, France, before the reunion in the series finale titled, “At Last.”
With 11 episodes and frequent time jumps, the final season wrapped up many different character arcs, including Jeremiah building a future for himself as a chef and Steven and Taylor opening up about their next chapter, among many others.
