Filipino American pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo and English singer Jacob Collier gifted fans an early dose of holiday warmth, releasing an unexpected acappella rendition of the Christmas classic, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
The surprise collaboration arrived on Dec. 8 through a video posted by Collier, sending both fandoms into excitement.
The clip opens with Rodrigo greeting Collier with a hand heart before asking, “Hi, Jacob! How’s this?” With that, she glides straight into her vocal take of the Bing Crosby standard.

Collier celebrated the duet in his caption, writing, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas with my dear friend @oliviarodrigo,” along with a Christmas tree emoji.
The Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist is known for his intricate vocal stacks, this time around with Olivia Rodrigo’s warm tone front and center.
The comments section saw singer Sheryl Crow, Rodrigo’s idol, write “Ok MIND BLOWN.” Music channel MTV also commented, “even the grinch would stop & listen on repeat.”
For Rodrigo, who has been in full superstardom mode with her recent tours and releases, the holiday duet is a welcome break into seasonal softness.
