While excitement for their 2026 comeback is at an all-time high, BTS leader RM recently revealed that the journey toward their reunion was far from easy. At certain moments, the group even questioned whether they should continue at all.
During a live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse, RM opened up about the emotional and mental struggles BTS faced during their extended hiatus. He candidly shared that the idea of disbanding or indefinitely suspending group activities was something they repeatedly discussed behind the scenes.
RM revealed that they had “thought for tens of thousands of times” about whether it would be better to disband or put their activities on an indefinite pause.
The decision to keep going, he explained, ultimately came down to the bond between the members and the connection they share with fans.
“What has kept this team going is how much we love each other, and the love and respect we have for those watching this livestream,” he said.
Locked in on their next era
Despite those difficult chapters, BTS is now fully locked in on their next era.
RM confirmed that their upcoming album is progressing at a steady pace. Describing their current routine, he shared that the group recently practiced together and is now balancing filming content with daily rehearsals. He assured fans that they would reveal everything once the group feels fully prepared.
The new release is expected to arrive in March 2026 and will mark BTS’ first full-length group album in nearly six years since BE in 2020.
Adding another layer of excitement, reports indicate that BTS is also gearing up for a massive world tour in 2026.
According to Bloomberg, the group is planning around 65 shows across the globe, including more than 30 stops in North America.
If these plans push through, it will be their first full-group concert tour since the record-breaking “Permission to Dance on Stage” series that attracted over four million fans worldwide.
