This fall, BTS leader RM will open a new chapter in his artistic journey with the debut of RM x SFMOMA at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Launching on Oct. 3 and running through Feb. 2027, the exhibition will be the first to publicly showcase RM’s personal collection of modern and contemporary art.

SFMOMA invited RM to co-curate the exhibition alongside the museum’s curators América Castillo and Hyoeun Kim. RM played an active role in shaping the layout and presentation.
He aims for an experience that appeals not only to dedicated art enthusiasts but also to anyone curious about culture, creativity and history.

Reflecting on his approach, RM shared that he hopes the exhibition acts as a bridge. It “reflects boundaries—between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary. All perspectives are welcome,” he explained.
He added that he didn’t want to prescribe a single way to view the works, instead inviting curiosity and personal interpretation. “My only hope is that this exhibition can be a small but sturdy bridge for many,” RM said.
RM’s curated collection features a mix of paintings and sculptures, to be displayed alongside selected works from SFMOMA’s holdings. Mary Jane Elmore and Korea Foundation supported the exhibition, with additional backing from Alka and Ravin Agrawal and Jonathan Gans and Abigail Turin.
