Elon Musk has thrown his support behind Rupert Lowe’s new party after it pledged to ‘dismantle’ the establishment.

The Tesla founder – who is based in the US – has been a fierce critic of the current labor government, using his platform on X to attack its political record.

In his latest intervention in British politics, Musk showed approval for the right-wing party Restore Britain.

Mr Lowe founded the party after he was suspended from Reform UK last year.

Its local affiliate party, Great Yarmouth First, won all 10 seats it contested at the local elections earlier this month – nine on Norfolk County Council and one on Great Yarmouth Borough Council.

In a post on X, Mr Lowe vowed to ‘tear apart and rebuild’ the state, warning that many ‘all-powerful bureaucrats’ would be sent to prison under his plans.

In a lengthy tweet, he said: ‘Restore Britain is not going to merely reform the establishment – we are going to destroy it. The system will be dismantled, the state will be torn apart and rebuilt as one that serves the people it always should have done – the British people.

‘The permanent Westminster machine that has grown rich and comfortable while Britain became poorer, weaker, more divided and less safe is biting back. Is that any surprise?’

Reposting the rant, Trump’s former head of Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) simply said: ‘Restore Britain.’

Musk has previously publicly supported British far-right campaigner Tommy Robinson (real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon), whose most recent Unite the Kingdom rally in London on May 16 is thought to have attracted 60,000 attendees.

He has also allegedly considered donating to Reform in the past.

However, rifts opened between the billionaire and party leader Nigel Farage, after Musk said the Brexit pioneer did not have ‘what it takes’ to lead the country.

Musk has also previously thrown his weight behind Advance UK, another right-wing party set up by Reform defector Ben Habib.

The X boss wrote in August 2025 that Advance would ‘drive change’, and in the same post branded Farage ‘weak sauce’.

As well as backing right-wing parties in the UK, Musk has also lent his support to populist factions elsewhere in Europe, including Spain’s Vox party and Germany’s AfD.
