Manny Pacquiao has spent decades building a legacy inside the boxing ring, but his latest recognition came from an unexpected arena, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Filipino boxing legend was referenced in Marvel Studios’ series “VisionQuest,” introducing his name to audiences through one of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises.

While Pacquiao does not appear as a character in the series, the mention places his achievements alongside the real-world figures and cultural references woven into Marvel’s storytelling.

The scene unfolded in the show’s third episode when Vision, played by English actor Paul Bettany, spoke with Tommy Maximoff, portrayed by Ruaridh Mollica.

Their conversation turned to boxing after Tommy mentioned that he was a southpaw, or a left-handed fighter. Vision then brought up Pacquiao as an example of a celebrated southpaw athlete.

“Manny Pacquiao, eight world titles,” he said.

Fans quickly celebrated the moment as another example of Filipino excellence being recognized on the international stage.

“UY, PILIPINS,” one user wrote. Others said the mention was “so random” and caught them off guard.

“VisionQuest,” a spin-off of Marvel’s “WandaVision,” continues the franchise’s tradition of blending fictional superhero narratives with elements from real-world culture.
