Filipino American pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo has made history as the first artist to debut all lead singles from her first three albums at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Drop Dead,” the lead single from her third studio album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” debuted at No. 1, following in the footsteps of her previous hits “Drivers License” and “Vampire.”

Alongside the track release, the singer-songwriter released the official music video filmed at the Palace of Versailles in France.

Later that week, she also released two alternate music videos, exclusive to Spotify and Apple Music, respectively.

“Drop Dead (Taken That Eurostar to France),” released on Spotify, follows Rodrigo on her mini-adventure to France. “Drop Dead (Stalked You on the Internet),” released on Apple Music, is filmed like a screen recording from Rodrigo’s laptop at the Palace of Versailles.

The track is the first glimpse into Olivia Rodrigo’s third studio album. With dreamy synths and pining confessions, “Drop Dead” evolves her sound from the pop punk angst of prior albums “Sour” and “Guts” into her “lover girl” era.

“I started writing this album when I was experiencing real romantic love for the first time and thought I needed to make a record full of love songs,” she shared with radio host Ryan Seacrest.

Still, she offered her perspective that “happiness” in love songs is not the most evocative part of those songs.

“I went back to my favorite songs and realized that what touched me the most about them wasn’t the happiness but the sadness, the fear, the longing,” she said. “So, I decided to create sad love songs.”
