A new challenger has entered the arena and she’s bringing Filipino flair, fast footwork and an important mission involving her missing kuya (brother).
During the spotlight-filled reveal at Summer Game Fest, Capcom officially introduced Yasmine, the first canon Filipino fighter joining the legendary roster of Street Fighter 6 as part of its Year 4 DLC lineup.
Yasmine is a high school student with a double life. Her motivation is a quest to find her long-lost older brother or kuya, which instantly gives her arcade-style brawls a surprisingly emotional backbone.
Once she steps into combat, Yasmine flips into full focus mode, moving with a dance-inspired fighting style that looks like it belongs on a stage, right before it demolishes opponents in a match.
She was trained by her grandfather, who apparently believed that self-defense should also have rhythm, grace and maybe a bit of attitude.
Her weapon of choice is a crescent-shaped karambit knife, woven into her fluid, fast-paced style. The karambit itself has cultural roots across the Malay Archipelago, later becoming widely recognized in the Philippines, originally used for practical tasks like farming before gaining a reputation for close-range self-defense.
Yasmine proudly wears a blue outfit accented with a sun emblem inspired by the Philippine flag on her shoulder.
Capcom confirmed that she will join the roster later in the Year 4 DLC cycle, alongside crossover guest fighter Tifa Lockhart and new additions Arjun and Bosch.
